Many students have heard of Hawai'i, Tahiti, or New Zealand but fewer know that these islands (and many more!) are part of Polynesia. Polynesia walks readers through the history and culture of the Polynesian people, who have explored and settled islands in the Pacific Ocean since around 3000 BCE. Engaging photographs and an interesting topic will capture students' interest in learning more about this fascinating culture. The book can also be used to teach students how to make inferences and draw conclusions as well as to summarize to better understand the text.
