Polar Bearu0027s Promise

Fairy Tale (fiction) 760L

Polar Bear's Promise is a fun and fresh take on the classic fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. Instead of Little Red Riding Hood meeting a wolf in the woods on the way to her grandmother's house, Amka meets a polar bear in the Arctic. The polar bear is hungry and eats Amka and her grandmother, but things don't turn out quite the way he expects. Colorful illustrations and an engaging storyline will keep students interested in this modern fairy tale. The book can also be used to teach students how to analyze characters in a text as well as to make, revise, and confirm predictions.
